Hong Kong teacher Ron Gresham shares a blog post about his video about Studio Habits of Mind. Her writes, "Following the idea of Demetrius Fuller in Studio Thinking from the Start, I created my own HoMie characters a couple of years ago. Since we're learning online at the moment, I decided to explicitly teach the Studio Habits of Mind in a video with the help of the HoMie characters and the Art Assistant at my school."

Wisconsin teachers Bridget Kudrle and Alyssa Henker created choice boards for their students during virtual learning. Each board focuses on a specific Habit of Mind. They were inspired by a similar format by Washington teacher Cynthia Gaub.

Heather Walker in Iowa has created a living, growing list of contemporary artists whose work exemplifies Studio Habits of Mind. She writes:

This living document I created when I started my master's degree. My research explored students journaling about the Studio Habits of Mind, creating sketchbooks, and the discovery of artists who inspire them. This is just one document I created to share artists with students, I use it to start each class with a short video. We watch, share thoughts and it's a great way to get the class going. I selected the Studio Habits of Mind simply because these are habits of artists yes, but they are also habits of success for any career field.

I came up with this "Artist of the Day Idea"  because I wanted my students to see themselves as artists by watching other people make art about their life, experiences, and passions. I feel that students should be able to name a favorite artists  just as easily as their favorite songs, colors, or movies. Furthermore, I wanted to find current artists who work in a variety of materials, who comment about their work, share their process, and inspire students to question what is art and hopefully also blow their minds a little bit. These videos were carefully selected for what the artists have to say and share, this was a great way for me to invite experts into my room and back up the ideologies I was already trying to instill in young artists.

I hope that it can be of use for others and if anyone has artists videos they think should be added to the list please email me at hwalker@clargold.org.

In Wisconsin, Bridget Kudrle was inspired by a post she saw on Facebook to use I Spy to help students understand the Studio Habit of Mind of Observe. She made an I Spy bulletin board, connecting observation to the work of other artists (Understand Art Worlds). She made connections to artworks where artists observed objects (still life), observed a problem (plastic sculpture to bring awareness to pollution), and inviting the viewer to observe (Cloud Gate sculpture).

The PreK students of Sue Liedke created their own I Spy compositions, collecting and photographing objects in that style. More examples of their work can be found here.

Rachael Budd writes the following about her posters, which use animal traits to help describe the SHoM for little guys:
"I work in a PK-4 Elementary School and I wanted to create images to illustrate the Studio Habits of Mind in a way that students could relate to. With the help of the Facebook group community I selected an animal for each habit that I felt illustrated the habit and could serve as a visual cue. When I reference a habit I will ask students to discuss how that animal demonstrates that habit. I hope this will help students internalize the behavior and apply/recognize it elsewhere!"

Julie Toole in Chicago posts this sign at her door to emphasize SHoM in her students' work. She plans to change the habit monthly. In the center, she'll show photos of students at work using that habit, and around the poster, display work that exemplifies its use.
